SAP Solutions for Enterprise Project and Portfolio Management

SAP Enterprise Portfolio and Project Management (SAP EPPM) is a module for planning, prioritizing, and analyzing corporate projects. It helps you achieve greater efficiency in portfolio management and optimize portfolio control and collaboration among all employees and departments involved. With SAP EPPM, you can manage enterprise-wide projects from one place and at every stage, from forecasting and planning to billing and closeout.

SAP Project System (PS)

SAP PS has been a core solution from SAP from the beginning. Very robust, sturdy, and impeccable module that seamlessly integrates with many modules in S/4 Core. In a nutshell, it serves Financial, Accounting, and Logistic needs of Project-oriented processes in all CAPEX, OPEX, and Revenue Project Scenarios. For example, SAP PS has features like Budget Control, Project stock, Inter-company process, Settlements, Results Analysis etc. Capabilities like these distinguish PS from other solutions in EPPM.

SAP Commercial Project Management (CPM)

The journey of SAP CPM starts in 2012. CPM has Master Projects which can be linked to one or more SAP PS Projects, accounting object like Sales Orders, and even non-accounting objects like SAP PPM Projects. CPM has 3 major components, namely, Project Workspace, Financial Planning, Project Issue and Change Management.

SAP Portfolio and Project Management (PPM)

From S/4HANA 1709, the latest PPM application has been part of the S/4 Core. The distinctive features of SAP PPM are Decision-Making capabilities using Portfolio Management by quantifying the qualitative information, light-weight Project Management suitable for running Projects with Professional Resources, and Resource Management of Professional Resources. However, there are no organizational elements like Controlling Area, Company code etc. in SAP PPM. Also, there are no account assignment objects here. Therefore, it must be routed through SAP PS. This process of linking PPM to PS is called Account Integration.

SAP S/4HANA Accounting and Controlling

S/4HANA Accounting is the central accounting component of SAP S/4HANA that provides real-time financial data for accounting and financial reporting. It includes sub-modules such as General Ledger Accounting, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Asset Accounting, and Bank Accounting. It also supports new features such as Universal Journal, which combines financial and management accounting data.

SAP Financial Accounting (FI)

SAP FI (Financial Accounting) is a module in SAP ERP that manages financial transactions, including general ledger accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and fixed asset accounting. It provides real-time financial data to support financial reporting, analysis, and decision-making.

SAP Controlling (CO)

SAP CO (Controlling) is a module in SAP ERP that supports management decision-making by providing cost and profitability analysis. It manages costs and revenue within an organization, including product costing, profitability analysis, and internal orders. It provides insights into financial performance and supports strategic planning and decision-making.

SAP Investment Management (IM)

SAP Investment Management (SAP IM) is a module in ERP Central Component (ECC) and S/HANA Core that helps organizations plan and manage investments and capital expenditures. The SAP IM module contains functions for managing investments in fixed assets. Financial assets, in contrast, are managed in the SAP Treasury (TR) module.

SAP Treasury and Risk Management (TRM)
